Sandee is a New York born and raised logophile, writer, and globetrotter. She is a Phi Beta Kappa, Isaacs, and Kaye Scholar who received her BA in English Literature from The City College of New York, while graduating Summa Cum Laude with the Charles G. Habermann Memorial Award in Latin. She has completed her MA with distinction in Literary Linguistics through the University of Nottingham with a focus on Cognitive Poetics and Text World Theory. Her dissertation is entitled ‘Latent Paradigmatic Trauma and Problematized Identity: Stylistically tracing to reveal how fragmentation demands a witness.’
Her most recent writing can be found in Numéro Netherlands. Her poetry can be found printed (or is forthcoming) in Bluebird Anthology, Phoenix, Promethean, Sonder Quarterly, and Beechwood Review—among other online publications. Her debut chapbook, devis(h)er, was released by dancing girl press in December 2018.
When she’s not reading, writing, or combing over someone else’s writing, you’ll find her either commuting in a semi-frantic state or with a book, yoga mat, or micro- tabbed browser window open in front of her.
After leaving Taiwan, where she co-founded Taipei Poetry Collective and Taipei Writers’ Retreat, she has begun a new chapter in Europe. In denial of her underlying Ludditism, she resides with far fewer of her dogeared treasures than she would like, but with an abundance of black clothing.
